BIG MAKERS FAIR - online, online, online - and relax

Wow! What a full-on week it’s been.
Herts Visual Arts Big Makers Fair Live dominated the diary last week. After last weekend’s practice session, I was paired up with Gail for “Artists in Conversation”. We had a test run on Friday and I realised I needed to rearrange my studio. I may need to buy a tripod to hold my tablet for videos. The live interview was on Saturday afternoon. On Friday evening I went to the Big Makers Fair Private View. Very interesting to hear what other artists make and how they approach their work. I’d invited contacts and past customers, and met one in a Breakout Room. Great to put a face to a name!

The event continues on the website till the end of March Big Makers Fair 2021 and you can see recordings of the live sessions online.if you follow the link. I've added a separate gallery to my website to show my entries to the exhibition.

Early in the week, I met online with 3 other artists to discuss a proposal for the new Letchworth Culture Project. I’m leading on this, so used my notes from the discussion to draft a proposal, complete and send the application form. Good initial response from the project sponsor. Now we just wait.

Still working on changes to my website, so to help me out, I’ve signed up for a website challenge which starts on Monday.. I've already changed the style template and much prefer the new look.

My week finished with more writing as I’d been invited to do a guest blog post. It follows up on a report I read about ways to improve gender equality – opportunities, pay etc. A subject that’s been important to me for a long time.

Now I can return my studio to its normal layout ready to start new paintings tomorrow. I’ve got a pile of new canvases and some unopened tubes of paint, so can’t wait to get started.
