This painting evolved from an exploration of different textures, with a much more neutral palette than my usual ones. The overlaid squares in transparent paints reveal some of the earlier textures. The delicate squares contrast with the bold horizontal lines which bring the painting together.

Overall, this set of paintings marks a step on my journey to explore different approaches to mark making and abstract composition.
