This oil painting was started some time ago to practice my portrait techniques. It was hidden away in storage for a while, and then finished off recently.
It was a challenge matching the skin tones to improve the shadows and contours of the face, but I succeeded.
It was my first oil painting exercise for some time and I’d forgotten how much I enjoy it. There may be some more new work soon.
